The full forms of DC are Deputy Commissioner. He or she is the District collector, the Chief Revenue Officer, responsible for Revenue collection and other Govt. dues that are recoverable as Land Revenue arrears. The Deputy Commissioner also deals with unseasonal rains, floods, drought, hailstorms, and fire, etc.
The President appoints a deputy commissioner. It is with the consent and advice of the Senate.
How to become Deputy Commissioner?
To become a Deputy Commissioner, you must join as an Assistant Superintendent of the police department by qualifying the Civil Service Examination. The Union Public Service Commission conducts the Civil Service Exam every year.

For men, the relaxable height is 160cm, and for women, it is 145 cm for people belonging to ST and other races such as Assamese, Gorkhas, Nagaland Tribals, Kumaonis, Garhwalias, etc.

Squint is a disqualification, but spectacles are acceptable. Distant vision for an eye should be 6/6 or 6/9 as corrected vision, and Distant vision for a worse eye should be 6/12 or 6/9 as uncorrected vision. Near vision must respectively be J1 and J2. The vision’s high-grade color is a must, and there is a binocular vision needed.

Educational Qualification:
A Bachelor's degree from a recognized university or to possess an equivalent qualification.
Age Limit:
Minimum 21 years and Maximum 32 years. There is relaxation in age limit of 5 years for SC/ST candidates. The candidates from Jammu& Kashmir state, Defence Services Personnel, Ex-servicemen, ECOs/SSCOs completing Military Service of 5 years, OBC candidates get 3 years and up to 10 years relaxation for deaf-mute, blind, and orthopedically handicapped people.
